It would be great to see her relationships with any one of these people growing and developing into friendship; to see her letting down her guard and letting people in, even when it's difficult and goes against everything she's been trained to do.

I'll take slice-of-life-with-the-paper stories, case file-type stuff, vignettes...whatever you want to do, just let me back into that world.

I know this show makes its living presenting different character combos; Rosa and Amy together is my favorite of all of them because...Rosa. And Amy. They're polar opposites in so many ways, but they're both dedicated to being good cops and there's an obvious respect there. Give me hijinx, case files, some kind of training scenario, a stakeout, a road trip, one trying to get into the other's head, or anything else fun you can think up!

I would love to read about Joan interacting with any of these characters, either within or outside of the confines of a case. They've all been presented as fairly complex characters, which is what I love about the show, along with the touches of backstory and humor woven into the episodes. Any opportunity you can give them to interact would be great: stakeouts, grabbing coffee or a drink, case work, a road trip--I'd love to hang out, fictionally, with them in any of the above combinations.
